Throughout Alicia's professional career she has being fortunate enough to work with diverse populations. Alicia has worked with male and female teenagers in detention centers and boot camps, taught legal classes to perpetrators of domestic violence, and provided supportive counseling for those who were victimized. Alicia worked for many years at the local mental health center supporting client in achieving and maintaining baseline behaviors. Her last agency position was of Clinical Directior
Several years ago, Alicia began to focus her efforts on developing a space free of stigma, a place where people can feel comfortable as they work through difficult issues. So, with a lot of meditation, prayer, and loving friends, our home at Mosaic became a reality.
Alicia's counseling techniques have roots in cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, and solution-focused therapy. Alicia works with her clients to identify personal values, barriers to moving toward these values, and creating workable strategies to align values and behavior. She enjoys working with teens and adults to improve emotional resiliency and confidence. Alicia is also an approved supervisor for Associate Licensed Counselors in Alabama.
